I had a client almost stump me about a year ago. I love a challenge! She wanted to know how to get something to line up vertically across her page. She had started out with something like this:
**This demo is using the new art collection called "Hush Little Baby"**

Now, you could align all of the buttons and then rotate them at a 45degree angle (see previous Layout Tip), but that wouldn't get them evenly spread across the page like she wanted it.

Here is the solution:
  1. While holding down the Shift key on your keyboard, click on all of the items (in this case, buttons) that you want to select in your group.
  2. Going to your toolbox, first make sure the items are "unlocked" (the keypad picture on the bottom RH corner of your toolbox) so that the band around your group is green.
  3. Having multiple, unlocked items selected will automatically take you to the "layout" tab. Select "To: Page"
  4. Do NOT use the align buttons. :)
The following images show the difference between using the "Space" buttons and the "Distribute" buttons.
And even if you're not wanting your buttons spread across the entire space of the page, check out what I did with this technique (and some of the other tips from Layout Tools Part 1)
