My friend and fellow Heritage Makers Consultant, Patricia Glass, from Michigan has shared with us some fun activities she loves to do with her family and how Heritage Makers has helped her out.

Patty remembers, “Many hot summer nights while growing up, my family and I would sit around the kitchen table playing cards. Rummy, Pinochle, Euchre, Hearts, Spades, Spit and my favorite – Spoons. So many fun memories of laughing and enjoying friends and family. From the time my daughter could hold the cards – we played Go Fish and Matching Games. Now I play the loud and frantic games of Pit and Uno with her and her friends. It’s funny how a simple deck of cards can be the source of so much fun. I just received my deck of Heritage Makers custom playing cards that I created. I have also made a set of cards for my great-niece, Ava, so she could play Go Fish or Matching game. Her cards have pictures of her family members so she can ask “Do you have any Daddies? Do you have any Pappas?” My family deck has photos and the traditional suits and numbers on them. So we can play any card game.

I have to admit that making them was fun and by using a template from the Template Gallery I was able to create them pretty quickly. You can create them however you want. You can use a different picture on every card or make them in sets like I did for Ava so she could match them. ”

Thank you Patty, for sharing some great ideas for summer fun and projects you can make with (and then play with) your kids.
