The marriage proposal is what every young girl dreams of. She imagines her future husband planning the perfect moment to ask her the all-important question. Maybe he will be traditional and get down on one knee in the middle of a restaurant. Maybe he will plan a romantic picnic in the mountains and pop the question after sharing gooey sentiments and “I love yous.” Maybe he will be exotic and ask while jumping out of an airplane.

But the sweetest proposals are not the “showy” ones. They’re the thoughtful ones. The ones that come from the heart. The ones like Matt’s proposal to Courtney.

Matt’s friend Camille is an HM Consultant. And when Matt was ready to ask for his girlfriend Courtney’s hand in marriage, Camille helped him make a book called, “Remember When…”

Matt used a 7x5 Storybook with the “I Love You Because…” template. Each page was filled with pictures of him and Courtney and dates they had been on.

The day before Courtney’s birthday, Matt took Courtney out to dinner. While they were waiting for their table, Matt pulled out Courtney’s birthday present-the book-and Courtney began looking through it. She thought it was a very sweet birthday present. But when she got to the last page, she read, “Remember when… I asked you to marry me?” The picture next to these words was of Matt holding a ring. When Courtney looked up, Matt was down on one knee.

Courtney said of the experience, “I jumped up and hugged him and knew what my answer was immediately.” Congratulations to Matt and Courtney who will be married May 9th.
